At P.S. Ekman ReDesign AB, which is part of the sewing association Textilproduenterna, tailor-made dog clothes are the focus. The company has built up a unique expertise in creating everything from elegant trench coats and party dresses to robust biker jackets for dogs of all breeds and sizes. Regardless of whether it is a powerful Rhodesian Ridgeback or a small toy Yorkie, there is the ability to create garments that both fit well and reflect the dog’s personality.
High-level craftsmanship
Sewing clothes for dogs is an art that requires both creativity and precision. Each assignment begins with careful measurements, followed by tests to ensure the fit. The challenge is that each dog is unique, which makes standard solutions impossible. Here, the art of sewing and the sense of detail become crucial.
“It is not possible to mass-produce garments that will fit everyone. Our strength is that we can sew anything for any dog. Each garment is personal and adapted to that particular individual,” says Pia at P.S. Ekman ReDesign AB.
Fashion that is seen and appreciated
The company’s high-class design was confirmed when their garments were shown during Gothenburg’s 400th anniversary in Bältesspännarparken. One product that received particular attention was a trench coat with “Göteborg” embroidered on the collar. The fashion show was proof that custom-made dog clothes can be as much style as function and that local craftsmanship stands out the most even on a larger stage.
Sustainability in all work
For P.S. Ekman ReDesign AB, sustainability is a natural part of the work. The garments are often made from deadstock and recycled materials, which reduces the environmental impact and at the same time gives each garment a unique expression. By working locally, transport is also reduced and it is easier to have a close dialogue with customers.
Looking ahead
After the success of both collections and fashion shows, interest in custom-made dog clothes is growing. The company sees a market where dog owners are looking for alternatives to mass-produced garments that rarely fit well. Here, P.S. Ekman ReDesign AB a solution that combines quality, aesthetics and sustainability.

“We want to show that dog clothes can be more than just practical. They can be an extension of the dog and owner’s style, while being made to last,” says Pia Ekman at the company.
